MLM and Business Sense: Do they Mix?

There is one indicator that exposes a MLM scheme from a real opportunity. What is that?

The litmus test that separates an MLM Opportunity from a MLM Scam is a "Business Plan."

Boring!

How can a solid and stodgy business plan compete with the "glamor and glitz" of a "get-rich-quick, gold mine, hot opportunity?"

Answer: For the greedy, it can't.

But, for the honest, "give more value and effort than the money I earn" entrepreneur, the "proof is in the plan."

And, not just any plan, a tailor-made plan that is set in writing.

"By their fruits will you know them… is a parable. When applied to Multi-Level Marketing, the phrase goes something like this…

"By the written detail of the plan that they sit down and develop with you shall you know their nature, whether it be greed for themselves or opportunity and instruction for you."

The Strength and Depth of their Classroom

Real opportunities take time. Time to learn the ropes. Time to explore the "ins and outs."

If your Upline recruiter is too busy to sit down with you and write a step-by-step plan that…

  • Takes you from where you are to where you want to be

  • Accounts for your talents and skills

  • Focuses upon your experience and your strengths

  • Fills in the gaps in your knowledge, skills and abilities with economical outsource, freelance support

  • Evaluates your potential and advises on how difficult a task you face if you have no prior experience

  • Provides realistic numbers for your Return on Investment (ROI)

  • Continues to evaluate your progress based upon your written business plan

How to Know when to "Head for the Hills"

It is easy to know when to "beat a fast retreat" from a scam MLM recruiting or sales ploy. The greed rears its ugly head, and you can see it when…

  • Instead of personal tutoring to perfect your skills, you are forced to buy marketing materials, tapes, videos, brochures. Note: A brochure sells to maybe 0.3% of the folks that you give them to.

  • Instead of sitting with you, one-to-one, or with one or two other people, you are summoned to attend high-impact "motivational meetings" at upscale hotels

  • There are no written goals for your training

  • Your sponsor is too busy roping in new recruits to train you

  • There are not specific, doable targets written into your business plan

  • Your sponsor is unwilling to tell you what percentage of his or her income comes from personal sales, and what percentage comes from other people's work

An Internet MLM Case Study

Here is an example of what your Upline sponsor should be doing for you.

This example is taken from an Internet MLM company, Lead Supreme™

This company developed a brilliant marketing strategy of offering free use of their software for 10 days at $20. This was offered to 1,000 people. Ant, the person that got the most leads using their software wins $10,000!

This is brilliant because they promote their software while making $10,000 for themselves. (They give the other half away as the prize.)

But, they don't just turn folks loose with the software. Instead they offer:

  • MP3 Audio Training

  • Online Video Training

  • Live Teleseminars: Recorded for playback for people who can't call in

  • A perfectly configured sub domain with the lead capturing system already in place

This is a sample of taking care of the recruit, and making it easy for them to learn what needs to be done for the business.

Their is online training each day. And, there are step-by-step instructions.

And, pay particular attention to the online audio interview with a "Black Hat Search Engine Optimizer Confession."

It might be worthwhile to see just how much free training you can grab from this offer.
